Bought a Citizen Aqualand Promaster watch about 8 years ago after I got 25+ years from a previous model. I flogged the previous one in many, many dives and was super impressed with its reliability and performance. So, the old watch finally died and I decided to replace it with the latest model AND I got a discount on trading in my old one. Bargain! But NOT. The new model failed almost immediately, was repaired then failed a year later, repaired then some 3 years later it failed again. Super disappointing and I lost all interest in it, so finally got around to sending to Citizen for a repair, OK out of warranty but willing to fix it. However, they do not carry parts for a 10 year watch, WTH! They offered a 50% discount on a new watch, but why would I buy a new Citizen watch when they don't last now? Where is the value proposition for me? None. This is VERY poor support. Such a robust designed watch not having parts after only 10 years! Wrong. So, now I have a dead watch and $600 gone. Don't buy Citizen, they have dropped their quality and any real support of their product.

Citizen eco drive purchased in October 2019. Within a few months the face misted. Citizen are claiming watch has been emersed in water. This never happened, the only water is a splash when hand washing. Still they insist the guarantee does not cover what they term accidental damage. Basically it's defective and not worth spending your money on. Citizen are no help and shirk their responsibility. Avoid at all cost.

Sent my watch in Dec 2019 for repair

Sent my watch in Dec 2019 for repair: Broken crystal and battery had stopped 3 years after purchase. Originally the battery stopped and I brought it into a local watch repair service in town to change out the battery for me. When he got the back off, he could NOT get it back on. I found out online that Citizen style watches purposely do this so that you must send them back to the manufacturer. However, some sites do instruct a way to get the back on yourself...which failed miserably resulting in a broken crystal. So, I sent in my watch for a new battery, crystal, and to have the back put on. Those were the only issues with my watch. Then pandemic hit in 2020, and I knew it would take awhile to repair and send back. Totally understandable. Repair was under $100 and fair. My watch was sent back May 2021. Everything was repaired, except the band of my watch was cut clean in half! Not broken, actually looks like someone snipped it with scissors. It was not damaged when I sent it in and the notes regarding the inspection when it was received by Citizen didn't state the damage. It stated the band being cut in the 6 o'clock position (which was from me cutting off the excess end of the band to accommodate my tiny wrist). The part of the band that was snipped in half was done at the 12 o'clock portion of the band where the buckle was. Called and spoke to service, and they guy was extremely lackluster in his customer service skills and said my watch could not have possibly been cut at their location. I told him if the watchband needed repair at time of sending it in, I certainly would have noted that on my repair instructions. They sent my watch back well packaged in a box with no damage. They finally said they needed to see the watch to survey the damage and I needed to send the WHOLE WATCH back to them in the mail! They said they couldn't just have me send back the watch band only or even better email or text them a photo of the watch with the damaged band. They didn't apologize and the guy sounded totally bored on the phone. Told him I didn't want to send my watch back in to them if it came back with a damaged band to begin with. I don't recommend this company, especially if you need to send the watch to them for repairs. I recommend Etsy or privately owned company if you wish to purchase a watch instead.

Hopeless guarantee service

I registered my 5 year guarantee as soon as I bought the watch. When it was around 3 years old, some of the numbers became unstuck and are floating around inside the dial. I contacted Citizen who said that despite my having registered the guarantee they would only repair it if I could produce the original receipt. I couldn't find it and even if I could have the Argos receipt would have faded out completely by that time. Waste of space.

Citizen UK

Citizen UK - horrendous customer service. I'm surprised Citizen globally let them operate such is the incompetence of the UK staff. Strap failed after a month. Would not send a new one despite evidence because I, as a consumer, am not allowed to replace it myself. Would have had to send in the whole watch at great expense for them to do it. Spastics.

All the Watch You Will Ever Need

All the watch you will ever need! I bought a Citizen Eco Drive Chronograph and it is fantastic. Had it now over 10 years and it has always kept perfect time, to the second. I'm a bit of a watch snob and have IWC, Omega, Longines and others but I can honestly say the Citizen is so much easier to live with. The lume glows all night, it never needs winding/charging, and if it does get damaged then you don't have to worry as it was relatively cheap to buy in the first place. Having said that, my watch looks immaculate after 10 years despite wearing frequently. With the chronograph, alarm and two time setting, what more could you want. I bought it because it looks fab and so pleased I did.

My experience with Citizen watches has been great for the last 25 years, quality, reliability, beauty and most important affordable to anyone., one must know that eco-drive charge times are different and that you must not let the watch in a dark place.Customer service has been great and the online site easy to navigate.

Seriously avoid sending your watch in…

Seriously avoid sending your watch in for any type of repairs, they will do nothing that you ask. send your watch back worse shape than when you sent it. then try to charge you for a brand new watch. You would think you could trust the manufacturer with a simple repair, they over inflated the repair to over $650 to top it off they could care less. They won’t even send back everything that you sent them. Terrible horrible service sorry I ever got involved with these people. I should of known when you can’t even get a simple gasket for your watch. Then you are forced to send it back to them even then they don’t do it.

I love Citizen watches they have the best technology with all there watches, Especially with the ECO-Drive. I have only brought Citizen watches, since I started wearing watches over 18 years ago and so has my father. Recently just got the new CZ smart watch, definitely recommend this watch over any other smart watches out there.

Excellent after sales service!

Excellent service from Jasmine Tolton at Citizen's UK facility. A couple of years ago I bought a Citizen Pro Master Eco-Drive Diver's watch with money given to me for my 50th birthday. Having joined a few watch groups recently I discovered that the wrong presentation box had been supplied by Peplow Jewellers Worcester (they gave me the standard cardboard cylinder box but it should have been a plastic 'pelican case' container for watches in this range). Anyway I contacted Citizen by email (not expecting a response to be honest) and Jasmine replied a few hours later and was able to source me the correct replacement box (without needing photos or proof of purchase etc.) and this arrived later the same week. This was service above and beyond anything I was expecting and, given I've had a lot of Citizen watches over the last decade (and very few problems - I can't relate to some of the negative reviews on here about the company at all) this goodwill gesture means I will definitely consider Citizen for any future watch purchases. Jasmine is a fine ambassador for the brand!

Watch fixed! I can recommend Citizen's Service Centre

Watch fixed!
My 10 year old Citizen (radio-controlled, perpetual calendar) was "faulty". The battery couldn't hold a charge due to years stored in a box. I sent it in to Citizen's UK service centre and they fixed it in very good time and sent it back to me via next day delivery once done, with a 12 month guarantee for their workmanship. Cannot fault it. I'm surprised the reviews are low, but my experience was smooth and easy. Prices seemed a bit steep, but you have the choice to accept/reject the quote. I'm just pleased my watch is back up and running and should be working for many, many years to come.

Terrible service from citizen I sent a…

Terrible service from citizen I sent a watch for repair with details of my address on and they returned it unrepaired to a different town 20miles away so I had to collect. Now I have to go through the process again and my postage as they had also sent the price of the repair to the other address not me.

I have sent a watch for arepair and…

I have sent a watch for a repair and never imagine how they deal with the watch. They sent me the watch which bracelet with lots of pieces. And also they open the crown and never put back as it was. Instead put a cello tape to esembel it. When I see this, I could not beleive my eyes as how a repair center send a watch like this. Unfortunate thing is when I contact them, their response was also very unprofessional and only based on assumptions. Not bother to do any internal investigation. My advise is avoid them at all cost. For me it is look like repairers has no any skills to deal with watch repairs.

Avoid! Avoid!!!! Worst service ever!!!

Avoid!! Worst customer service in the history of time. Your staff needs more training, they sound completely lost. I spoke to someone who hardly spoke English and she sent my item to the wrong address. They don't even send you an email once you place the order or when they charge your card. If they would have sent me an email like every other company on the planet, I would have been able to see that they have the wrong address. Now my item was sent back to them and no apologies nothing. I spoke to an agent this morning about the issue and she acted like it was no big deal asking me questions about the tracking I don't work there maybe you should try tracking the package yourself!! This is your mistake! Take responsibility! At least apologize for Christ sakes! I was also charged a different amount than the agent said, once again if they sent an email with all the details this would help!! I'm so pissed! I will never in my life buy a citizen watch or anything from citizen ever again!!!!!!!!!!! You would think that a big company like citizen would be able to afford a better customer service team!! Train your staff they sound extremely lost!!! plus when u ask for French you get English and when u ask for English the person answers in French! Get it together!! McDonald's has better service than you!!!! Train your staff!
